Tyson Fury vs Tom Schwarz RESULT: ‘Gypsy King’ impresses with vicious second-round knockout, promises Deontay Wilder rematch next year

Tyson Fury took just two rounds to knock out Tom Schwarz on Saturday night in Las Vegas, as he made a statement in front of the US audience.

Britain’s ‘Gypsy King’ fought in America twice before, but now hopes to make the country his fighting home having signed a long-term co-promotional deal with Top Rank/ESPN.

The fight began with Fury throwing out a few left jabs to judge the distance between himself and his opponent, and the difference in class between the two men soon began to show.

Schwarz was selected to provide the ‘lineal’ heavyweight champion with the opportunity to look good in front of his new fanbase and was clearly overmatched from the off.

Fury switched stances for the start of the second round and went on the attack, wobbling his German foe with a big left hook.

Schwarz swung wildly in response, prompting kidology from Fury, who continued to strike him while elusively remaining out of range.

At the end of the second, Fury put together another blistering combination, ending with a straight left hand which floored his opponent for the first time in his career.

The challenger made it back to his feet, but was subsequently pummelled by a series of punches from the Brit, prompting refere Kenny Bayless to jump in and end the bout.

“Thank you America and God bless you all,” Fury began in his post-fight interview.

“The key tonight was to enjoy myself, I used the jab, I was slipping and sliding. I caught him with a straight left.

“I’m back, the mac is back, the ‘lineal’ champion, bring them all on.

“I came here to have fun and put on a show for Las Vegas. I hope everybody enjoyed it as much as I did.”

Fury concluded by revealing his next fight will come on September 21 or October 5 before promising a Deontay Wilder rematch early next year.

He then sang Aerosmith’s ‘I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing’ to his wife Paris in the ring and departed for his after party.
