It is believed the man – who was not wearing a seat belt – was on his way to Sevenoaks in Kent.

During an argument over the direction the driver is travelling in, he says: ‘F****** hell, I’m a southerner yeah.’

The driver responds: ‘Mate listen, shut your f****** mouth, I’ve done it for a set price.’

Police are now looking for the man who got in the cab and the driver.

PC Phil Hastings said: ‘Although I have now made contact with the injured passenger, we still need to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident.

‘I would also urge the driver and the second passenger, who approached the taxi after the assault, to come forward and speak with us.’
